Abstract
A composition includes a prenylated cannabinoid in an amount effective to modulate cannabinoid receptor CB2 activity; and a pharmaceutically or nutraceutically acceptable carrier; wherein the prenylated cannabinoid has the following formula (I): R at each occurrence is farnesyl or geranylgeranyl; R1 at each occurrence is hydrogen or —COOR3; R2 at each occurrence is —C3-C20 alkyl; and R3 at each occurrence is selected from hydrogen, —C1-C20 alkyl, and —C1-C20 haloalkyl.
Claims19
A composition comprising:
- a prenylated cannabinoid in an amount effective to modulate cannabinoid receptor CB2 activity;
- and
- a pharmaceutically or nutraceutically acceptable carrier;
- wherein:
- the prenylated cannabinoid has the following formula (I):
- R at each occurrence is farnesyl or geranylgeranyl;
- R1 at each occurrence is hydrogen or —COOR3;
- R2 at each occurrence is-C3-C20 alkyl;
- and
- R3 at each occurrence is selected from hydrogen, —C1-C20 alkyl, and —C1-C20 haloalkyl.
Sesqui-cannabigeranylgerol (SCBGG) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester, or acidic derivative thereof.
