A method for restoring disulfide bonds, reducing hair breakage, and improving the visual appearance of split ends in damaged hair, the method comprising:
- applying a rinse-off hair treatment composition to damp hair, wherein the rinse-off hair treatment composition comprises:
- a therapeutically effective amount of a Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein-Silicone Hybrid, wherein the Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein-Silicone Hybrid comprises Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, and is configured to penetrate hair fibers to restore broken disulfide bonds, reinforce keratin structures, and improve tensile strength;
- a therapeutically effective amount of a botanical antioxidant, wherein the botanical antioxidant comprises Silybum Marianum Seed Extract, and is configured to neutralize oxidative stress, protect restored disulfide bonds from degradation, and enhance overall hair resilience;
- a therapeutically effective amount of a Hyaluronic Acid Derivative, wherein the Hyaluronic Acid Derivative is Sodium Hyaluronate, and is configured to bind moisture to the hair shaft, improve hydration retention, and enhance elasticity;
- a therapeutically effective amount of a Cationic Hyaluronic Acid Derivative, wherein the Cationic Hyaluronic Acid Derivative is Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate, and is configured to form a lightweight hydrating film on the hair surface, reduce friction, and improve detangling and smoothness;
- a therapeutically effective amount of a hydrolyzed low-molecular-weight Hyaluronic Acid Derivative, wherein the hydrolyzed low-molecular-weight Hyaluronic Acid Derivative is Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, and is configured to penetrate into the hair cortex, deliver long-lasting hydration from within, and increase flexibility;
- a therapeutically effective amount of a conditioning agent, wherein the conditioning agent comprises a combination of Amodimethicone and Dimethicone, and is configured to selectively deposit on damaged areas of the hair, create a flexible protective film, smooth the cuticle, and reduce frizz without excessive buildup;
- a therapeutically effective amount of a structuring and stabilizing agent, wherein the structuring and stabilizing agent comprises a combination of Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, and Xanthan Gum, and is configured to maintain an aerated, whipped texture, stabilize the formulation, and enhance uniform application;
- water and additional cosmetically acceptable excipients, including pH adjusters, emulsifiers, preservatives, and rheology modifiers;
- wherein the rinse-off hair treatment composition has a specific gravity below about 0.88, forming a low-density, aerated, and easily spreadable formulation that enhances deposition and absorption while maintaining a lightweight, non-greasy feel;
- massaging the rinse-off hair treatment composition into the hair fibers for at least 30 seconds, ensuring even distribution and penetration into the hair cortex;
- leaving the rinse-off hair treatment composition on the hair for at least 10 minutes to allow sufficient absorption and molecular repair;
- rinsing the rinse-off hair treatment composition from the hair with water at a controlled temperature, removing excess formulation while retaining the deposited conditioning agents;
- wherein after a single application of the method, the rinse-off hair treatment composition restores at least about 30% of lost disulfide bonds, improves the visual appearance of at least about 60% of split ends, with at least about 40% of the split ends achieving complete closure, and reduces hair breakage by at least about 80% after 2,000 brush strokes in repeated grooming tests;
- wherein the synergistic combination of the hydrolyzed vegetable protein-silicone hybrid, botanical antioxidant, hyaluronic acid derivatives, and conditioning agents works to restore molecular hair integrity, reduce cortical fragmentation, enhance cuticle alignment, improve hydration retention, and provide long-lasting smoothness and frizz control, resulting in stronger, healthier, and more manageable hair.
