Abstract
Absorbent articles having a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, an absorbent core disposed at least partially between the topsheet and the backsheet, and a pair of barrier leg cuffs is provided. Each barrier leg cuff is formed from a cuff material. The cuff material includes hydrophobic cellulosic fibers.

An absorbent article comprising:
- a liquid permeable topsheet;
- a liquid impermeable backsheet;
- an absorbent core disposed at least partially between the topsheet and the backsheet;
- and
- a pair of barrier leg cuffs, each barrier leg cuff is formed from a cuff material,
- wherein the cuff material comprises hydrophobic cellulosic fibers.

- a liquid permeable topsheet;
- a liquid impermeable backsheet;
- an absorbent core disposed at least partially between the topsheet and the backsheet;
- and
- a pair of barrier leg cuffs, each barrier leg cuff formed from a cuff material,
- wherein the cuff material has a water resistance of at least 6 mbar according to the Water Resistance Test method disclosed herein and
- wherein the cuff material has a Biodegradability of at least 80% according to the Biodegradability Test method disclosed herein.
