Abstract
A variation of a method for collecting and processing bioelectrical signals includes: establishing bioelectrical contact between a user and one or more sensors of a biomonitoring neuroheadset; monitoring contact characteristics of the one or more sensors based on bioelectrical signals detected at the one or more sensors; and providing feedback to the user based on the contact characteristics. A variation of a system for collecting and processing bioelectrical signals includes a set of sensors (e.g., electrodes) and a processing subsystem configured process the set of bioelectrical signals.
Claims6
A system for electroencephalography electrode adjustment, comprising:
- a wearable neuroheadset comprising a set of electrodes comprising a set of reference electrodes and a set of sensor electrodes, wherein the electrodes are dry electrodes configured to continuously measure electroencephalography (EEG) signals from a head of a user, the wearable neuroheadset comprising an earpiece, the earpiece comprising:
- an electronics housing;
- an earbud mounted to the electronics housing, the earbud comprising a sensor electrode of the set of sensor electrodes configured to be positioned proximal to an ear canal of an ear of the user;
- and
- a support hook mounted to the electronics housing, the support hook comprising a primary curvature configured to hook around the ear of the user, wherein a reference electrode of the set of reference electrodes protrudes from the primary curvature of the support hook;
- and
- a processing system configured to:
- determine a probabilistic model;
- and
- for each electrode in the set of electrodes:
- receive a set of EEG signals acquired by the electrode;
- determine a contact quality metric based on the set of EEG signals;
- extract feature values for a set of features from the set of EEG signals, the feature values comprising a first feature value for a first feature category and a second feature value for a second feature category;
- determine a signal quality metric based on the feature values, using the probabilistic model;
- and
- classify the electrode with a quality classification based on the signal quality and the contact quality;
- and
- facilitate adjustment of the set of electrodes in real time, comprising:
- when an electrode in the set of electrodes is classified as poor quality, determining a correction solution for the electrode from a set of correction solutions, the first correction solution determined based on the first feature value, the second correction solution determined based on the second feature value;
- and
- displaying a notification comprising the correction solution.
