Abstract
A light anchoring assembly for a household appliance includes a twist nut. The twist nut defines an aperture. A first interface surrounds the aperture and defines a locking tab that extends radially inward. Additionally, the light anchoring assembly includes a light housing. The light housing defines a second interface complementary to the first interface of the twist nut. The second interface defines a slot for engaging the locking tab as the twist nut is rotated to an installed position to secure the light housing to the household appliance.
Claims20
A dishwashing appliance, comprising:
- a tub defining a wash chamber therein for receipt of articles for washing;
- a door rotatably coupled to the tub for movement between a closed position and fully open position thereby facilitating access to the wash chamber;
- a tub light electrically coupled to a power source;
- and
- a tub light anchoring assembly, comprising:
- a twist nut defining an aperture generally defining an axial direction, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction, wherein a first interface surrounds the aperture and defines a locking tab that extends inward along the radial direction;
- and
- a tub light housing defining a second interface complementary to the first interface of the twist nut and defining a slot for engaging the locking tab as the twist nut is rotated to an installed position to secure the tub light housing to the tub, the tub light positioned within the tub light housing, the tub light housing comprising a lens for permitting emission of light by the tub light from the tub light housing.
A light anchoring assembly for a household appliance, comprising:
- a twist nut defining an aperture generally defining an axial direction, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction, wherein a first interface surrounds the aperture and defines a locking tab that extends inward along the radial direction;
- and
- a light housing defining a second interface complementary to the first interface of the twist nut and defining a slot for engaging the locking tab as the twist nut is rotated to an installed position to secure the light housing to the household appliance, a light positioned within the light housing, the light housing comprising a lens for permitting emission of light by the light from the light housing.
A household appliance, comprising:
- a cabinet defining a chamber therein for receipt of articles;
- a door rotatably coupled to the cabinet for movement between a closed position and fully open position thereby facilitating access to the chamber;
- and
- a cabinet light anchoring assembly, comprising:
- a twist nut defining an aperture generally defining an axial direction, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction, wherein a first interface surrounds the aperture and defines a locking tab that extends inward along the radial direction;
- and
- a cabinet light housing defining a second interface complementary to the first interface of the twist nut and defining a slot for engaging the locking tab as the twist nut is rotated to an installed position to secure the cabinet light housing to the cabinet.
