A suction cleaner and a method for cleaning surfaces using such are proposed. The suction cleaner includes a housing, a liquid filter, and a turbine. A suction air duct in the housing connects a suction air inlet to a suction air outlet via the liquid filter and the turbine, which includes an electric motor having a turbine wheel and configured to establish a suction air flow in the suction air duct. The liquid filter includes a tank forming part of the suction air duct, and a liquid storable therein separates particles from the suction air flow. The liquid filter includes a nozzle device at an inlet of the suction air duct and forms a nozzle tapering in a flow direction of the suction air flow in an inlet portion and configured to mix the liquid in the tank with the suction air flow.
