Smart locker

A method for storing an object in a smart locker, the method comprising:

• activating a shelving mode of the smart locker;
• obtaining an order number and size information of a target object;
• using the smart locker to select one or more first locker compartments from a plurality of available locker compartments of the smart locker based on the size information, and open one or more locker doors of the one or more first locker compartments, wherein the one or more first locker compartments are vertically adjacent to one another;
• placing the target object into the one or more first locker compartments;
• and closing the locker doors of the one or more first locker compartments to associate the order number with the one or more first locker compartments, thereby causing the smart locker to switch from the shelving mode to a pickup mode.

A smart locker system, comprising:

• a memory storing instructions;
• at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to perform operations comprising:
• activating a shelving mode of a smart locker to open locker doors of a plurality of available locker compartments of the smart locker;
• obtaining an order number and size information of a target object;
• selecting one or more first locker compartments from the plurality of available locker compartments based on the size information, wherein the one or more first locker compartments are vertically adjacent to one another;
• receiving barcode information associated with the target object and barcode information associated with each of the one or more first locker compartments;
• linking the order number with each of the one or more first locker compartments based on the barcode information associated with the target object and the barcode information associated with each of the one or more first locker compartments;
• and in response to the locker doors of the plurality of available locker compartments being closed, switching the smart locker from the shelving mode to a pickup mode.
