Abstract
A turntable assembly, e.g., a Lazy Susan, includes a turntable supported by a swivel mount in a storage space. The swivel mount includes a swivel pin and a mounting plate that cooperate to rotatably support the turntable and reduce or limit the propensity for the turntable to tilt or teeter during rotation. The swivel pin may include a tail that is rotatably housed in a swivel bearing housing and a head that may engage a portion of the mounting plate positioned between the head of the swivel pin and the swivel bearing housing. The head may extend a radial length over the portion of the mounting plate to provide well-controlled and distributed rotational support for the turntable.
Claims20
A turntable assembly comprising:
- a turntable having a top surface and a bottom surface;
- and
- a swivel mount for mounting the turntable in a storage space, the swivel mount comprising:
- a swivel bearing housing;
- a swivel pin including a head and a tail, the tail being receivable by the swivel bearing housing and rotatable in the swivel bearing housing;
- and
- a mounting plate connectable to the bottom surface of the turntable, wherein the mounting plate includes a hole through which the tail of the swivel pin extends, and wherein a portion of the mounting plate proximate the hole is positionable between the head of the swivel pin and the swivel bearing housing.
A swivel mount for a turntable assembly, the swivel mount comprising:
- a swivel bearing housing;
- a swivel pin including a head and a tail, the tail being receivable by the swivel bearing housing and rotatable in the swivel bearing housing;
- and
- a mounting plate connectable to a turntable, wherein the mounting plate includes a hole through which the tail of the swivel pin extends, and wherein a portion of the mounting plate proximate the hole is positionable between the head of the swivel pin and the swivel bearing housing.
A turntable assembly comprising:
- one or more turntables, each turntable having a top surface and a bottom surface;
- and
- one or more swivel mounts, each swivel mount corresponding to a turntable of the one or more turntables, each swivel mount comprising:
- one or more mounting arms for mounting the corresponding turntable in a storage space;
- a mounting plate connectable to the bottom surface of the corresponding turntable;
- and
- a swivel pin rotatably supportable relative to the one or more mounting arms, the swivel pin including a head attachable to the mounting plate such that swivel pin and the mounting plate are co-rotatable relative to the one or more mounting arms, and wherein the head of the swivel pin is positionable between the mounting plate and the bottom surface of the corresponding turntable.
