Abstract
Presented is a sole structure having a multi-layered sole structure with an exoskeletal cleat cage. The exoskeletal cleat cage has a polygonal lattice structure that provides traction, stability on a variety of surfaces and conditions, and pressure dispersion. The exoskeletal cage supports a plurality of cleats. The cleats may be S-shaped cleats and blade-shaped cleats. The cleats include a mounting base, such as a pair of coplanar mounting plates, that attach to the sole structure.
