The present disclosure relates to an upper for a shoe, the upper including a ball contact area. The ball contact area includes functional elements and guiding elements. At least one of the guiding elements are arranged relative to at least one of the functional elements to form at least one path. The at least one path can be configured to at least partially guide a ball upon contact with the ball contact area.

An upper for a shoe comprising a ball contact area comprising:
- functional elements;
- and
- guiding elements,
- wherein at least one of the guiding elements are arranged relative to at least one of the functional elements to form at least one path that partially guides a ball upon contact with the ball contact area.
