Athletic overshoe

A removable overshoe for cleated footwear configured for use on sports pitches or grass, comprising:

• a removable cover comprising a sole portion and an upper portion;
• wherein said sole portion comprises a flexible, elastic material, configured to extend from a toe-end to a heel of a footwear article and comprising one or more apertures each configured to grip a cleat;
• wherein upper portion is formed of a flexible, elastic material and comprises an expandable elastic opening;
• wherein said upper portion is affixed to the sole portion about the entire periphery of the sole portion, and is configured to envelop at least a portion of a toe-end, top surface, heel and two side surfaces of a footwear article to form an expandable cavity for receiving an article of footwear;
• and
• wherein the expandable elastic opening is configured to enable the overshoe to be removably mounted on cleated footwear article without use of a releasable fastener.

A kit comprising one or more removable overshoes and an aperture forming device;

• wherein the one or more removable overshoes comprises a sole portion and an upper portion;
• wherein at least a part of the sole portion comprises a flexible, elastic material, and the sole portion is configured to extend from a toe-end to a heel of a footwear article and the sole portion;
• wherein upper portion is formed of a flexible, elastic material and comprises an expandable elastic opening;
• wherein said upper portion is affixed to the sole portion about the entire periphery of the sole portion, and is configured to envelop at least a portion of a toe-end, top surface, heel and two side surfaces of a footwear article to form an expandable cavity;
• and
• wherein the aperture forming device comprises a punch die having the shape of the aperture to be formed and a base plate, wherein the punch die and base plate are pivotably articulated to form a puncture device.
