Abstract
Systems and methods for monitoring the distribution of residue material from a spreader tool of an agricultural machine. An event based sensor is used to obtain data indicative of a measure of residue material within an operating region of the spreader tool. From this, a measure of a distribution of residue material associated with the spreader tool is determined and used for controlling operation of one or more operable components associated with the agricultural machine, including the spreader tool itself.
Claims16
A system for monitoring the distribution of residue material from a spreader tool of an agricultural machine, the system comprising:
- an event based sensor;
- and
- one or more controllers, configured to:
- receive sensor data from the event based sensor indicative of a measure of residue material within an operating region of the spreader tool;
- determine, from the sensor data, a measure of a distribution of residue material associated with the spreader tool;
- and
- output one or more control signals for controlling operation of one or more operable components associated with the agricultural machine in dependence on the determined distribution.
A method of monitoring the distribution of residue material from a spreader tool of an agricultural machine, comprising:
- receiving sensor data from an event based sensor indicative of a measure of residue material within an operating region of the spreader tool;
- determining, from the sensor data, a measure of a distribution of residue material associated with the spreader tool;
- and
- controlling operation of one or more operable components associated with the agricultural machine in dependence on the determined distribution.
