Abstract
A device housing having at least a first housing part and a second housing part, which are assembled to form an enclosure, so that a first abutment face abuts a second abutment face. The first abutment face is provided by an elastomeric gasket, which elastomeric gasket is provided with protrusions and a first conductive coating. The first housing part is during assembly slid into engagement with the second housing part in a first sliding direction essentially parallel with the first abutment face, whereby the gasket is squeezed in a second direction essentially perpendicular to the first direction between the first abutment face and the second abutment face. The disclosure is also relating to a method of manufacturing such a housing device.
Claims21
A device housing comprising:
- at least a first housing part;
- and
- a second housing part;
- wherein the first housing part and the second housing part are configured to be assembled, or are assembled, to form an enclosure, wherein when the first housing part and the second housing part are assembled, a first abutment face of the first housing part abuts a second abutment face of the second housing part;
- wherein the first housing part comprises an elastomeric gasket having a first conductive coating, wherein the first housing part is configured to be slid into engagement with the second housing part in a first direction, whereby the gasket is squeezed in a second direction by the second abutment face of the second housing part;
- wherein the gasket comprises protrusions, the protrusions of the gasket facing the second abutment face when the first housing part and the second housing part are assembled.
A method of manufacturing a device housing comprising:
- manufacturing a first housing part having a first abutment face, wherein the first housing part comprises a gasket having a first conductive coating and protrusions along one or more sides of the gasket;
- providing a second conductive coating on the first housing part;
- manufacturing a second housing part, wherein the second housing part comprises a third conductive coating with a second abutment face;
- and
- sliding the first housing part into engagement with the second housing part in a first direction, whereby the gasket is squeezed in a second direction by the second abutment face.
