Near-field positioning method and communication apparatus

A near-field positioning method, comprising:

• measuring, by a terminal device, at least one reference signal corresponding to at least one beam from a network device, to obtain reference signal received power (RSRP) corresponding to the at least one beam;
• and
• sending, by the terminal device, first information to a location management function (LMF), wherein
• the first information indicates a reference signal resource corresponding to a beam with a largest RSRP in the at least one beam, or
• the first information indicates RSRP corresponding to N beams or ratios of the RSRP corresponding to the N beams to RSRP corresponding to a reference beam, wherein N is a positive integer, and the reference beam is any one of the N beams.

A near-field positioning method, comprising:

• receiving, by a location management function (LMF), first information from a terminal device;
• and
• determining, by the LMF, a location of the terminal device based on the first information, wherein
• the first information indicates a reference signal resource corresponding to a beam with a largest reference signal received power (RSRP) in at least one beam that is received by the terminal device from a network device;
• or
• the first information indicates RSRP corresponding to N beams or ratios of the RSRP corresponding to the N beams to RSRP corresponding to a reference beam, wherein the reference beam is any one of the N beams.
