An image forming apparatus includes a generation section that generates authentication information, a transmission section that transmits the authentication information to a terminal device, a reception section that receives input authentication information input to a user interface section of the image forming apparatus, and an authentication section that performs user authentication based on the input authentication information and the authentication information.

An image forming apparatuses, comprising:
- a generation section that generates authentication information;
- a transmission section that transmits the authentication information to a terminal device;
- a reception section that receives input authentication information input to a user interface section of the image forming apparatus;
- and
- an authentication section that performs user authentication based on the input authentication information and the authentication information.
A method for controlling an image forming apparatus, the method causing the image forming apparatus to:
- generate authentication information;
- transmit the authentication information to a terminal device;
- receive input authentication information input to a user interface section of the image forming apparatus;
- and
- perform user authentication based on the input authentication information and the authentication information.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a control program of an image forming apparatus, the control program causing a computer to function as:
- a generation section that generates authentication information;
- a transmission section that transmits the authentication information to a terminal device;
- a reception section that receives input authentication information input to a user interface section of the image forming apparatus;
- and
- an authentication section that performs user authentication based on the input authentication information and the authentication information.
