Printed Circuit Board and Battery System Using the Same

A battery system comprising:

• a plurality of battery modules connected in series;
• a plurality of cell module controllers (CMCs), wherein each CMC is connected to a respective subset of the plurality of battery modules;
• and
• a master battery management system (MBMS) configured to communicate with each CMC of the plurality of CMCs, wherein the plurality of CMCs are connected to each other and the MBMS in a daisy chain configuration,
• wherein each of the plurality of CMCs includes:
• a first connection terminal connected to the MBMS,
• a plurality of battery monitoring integrated circuits (BMICs), wherein each BMIC is connected to one or more battery modules of the respective subset of the plurality of battery modules connected to the CMC,
• a first BMIC mounting circuit connected to a first battery module, wherein the first battery module is disposed at a first end of the serial connection of the respective subset of the plurality of battery modules connected to the CMC,
• a second BMIC mounting circuit adjacent to the first BMIC mounting circuit, wherein the second BMIC mounting circuit is configured to electrically connect a mounted BMIC, from among the plurality of BMICs, that is mounted to the second BMIC mounting circuit to the one or more battery modules that are connected to the mounted BMIC, and
• a connection module configured to electrically connect the first BMIC mounting circuit, the second BMIC mounting circuit, and the MBMS to one another,
• wherein the connection module is configured to electrically connect the second BMIC mounting circuit to the MBMS when no mounted BMIC is mounted to the first BMIC mounting circuit, and
• wherein the connection module is configured to electrically connect the MBMS to the first BMIC mounting circuit and connect the first BMIC mounting circuit to the second BMIC mounting circuit when a mounted BMIC is mounted to the first BMIC mounting circuit.
