Abstract
Examples of a system and method for transacting media at a self-service terminal (SST), are generally described. A method may include receiving a PIN on a user interface component of a media interface aperture cover. The method may include causing the media interface aperture cover to retract to dispense or receive media through a media interface aperture.
Claims20
A self-service terminal (SST) comprising:
- a media interface aperture cover including a user interface component, the media interface aperture cover configured to retract to expose a media interface aperture;
- a housing configured to receive the media interface aperture cover;
- a processor;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- detect that the media interface aperture cover is unable to retract due to presence of a foreign device on the user interface component;
- and
- in response to detecting that the media interface aperture cover is unable to retract, perform a security action including at least one of aborting a transaction or generating an alert.
A method performed by a self-service terminal (SST), the method comprising:
- attempting to retract a media interface aperture cover including a user interface component to expose a media interface aperture, the media interface aperture cover received by a housing;
- detecting that the media interface aperture cover is unable to retract due to presence of a foreign device on the user interface component;
- and
- in response to detecting that the media interface aperture cover is unable to retract, performing a security action including at least one of aborting a transaction or generating an alert.
At least one non-transitory machine-readable medium including instructions for operating a self-service terminal (SST), which when executed by processing circuitry cause the processing circuitry to perform operations comprising:
- attempting to retract a media interface aperture cover including a user interface component to expose a media interface aperture, the media interface aperture cover received by a housing;
- detecting that the media interface aperture cover is unable to retract due to presence of a foreign device on the user interface component;
- and
- in response to detecting that the media interface aperture cover is unable to retract, performing a security action including at least one of aborting a transaction or generating an alert.
