In one embodiment, a system comprises one or more wireless communication devices configured to receive wireless communication signals from wireless communication transmitters; a plurality of weight scales, each of the plurality of weight scales configured to at least partly support a supplies carrier, and each particular weight scale of the plurality of weight scales comprising a weight sensor configured to sense a weight supported by the particular weight scale; a wireless communication transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit signals to one or more of the wireless communication devices over a first distance; an input device configured to receive input from within a second distance, the second distance being less than the first distance; one or more processors in data communication with the wireless communication transmitter, the input device, and the weight sensor; and memory storing one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed, cause the one or more processors to configure, based on the input received by the input device, the wireless communication transmitter for communication of signals to one or more of the wireless communication devices; receive, from the weight sensor, data representative of the weight sensed by the weight sensor; and cause the wireless communication transmitter to transmit a signal to one or more of the wireless communication devices, the signal being based on the data representative of the weight sensed by the weight sensor, and the signal being transmitted in accordance with the input received by the input device.
