Parallelized database system input/output operation execution

A database system comprises:

• pluralities of processing core resources of pluralities of computing nodes of pluralities of computing devices of a plurality of computing device clusters, wherein a computing device cluster of the plurality of computing device clusters includes a plurality of computing devices of the pluralities of computing devices, wherein a computing device of the pluralities of computing devices includes a plurality of computing nodes of the pluralities of computing nodes;
• wherein a computing node of the pluralities of computing nodes includes an associated main memory, an associated plurality of processing modules, and an associated plurality of memory devices, wherein a plurality of processing core resources of the pluralities of processing core resources is affiliated with the associated plurality of processing modules and with the associated plurality of memory devices;
• wherein a multitude of sets of memory devices stores pluralities of data segments of a dataset, wherein the multitude of sets of memory devices is of the pluralities of memory devices of a multitude of computing nodes of the pluralities of computing nodes;
• the multitude of computing nodes is operable to receive a query regarding the dataset,
• wherein the query includes a set of database operating instructions of a database instruction set,
• wherein the set of database operating instructions includes an input/output (IO) operation regarding a collection of data segments of the pluralities of data segments,
• a collection of processing modules is operable to perform the IO operation on the collection of data segments to produce a collection of IO processed data,
• wherein the collection of data segments is stored in a collection of memory devices of the multitude of sets of memory devices,
• wherein the collection of processing modules is of the pluralities of processing modules of the multitude of computing nodes,
• wherein a first processing module of the collection of processing modules performs the IO operation on a first data segment of the collection of data segments to produce first IO processed data of the collection of IO processed data,
• wherein the first processing module is of a first computing node of the multitude of computing nodes, wherein the first data segment is stored in a first memory device of the plurality of memory devices of the first computing node, and
• wherein the first processing module and the first memory device are associated with a first processing core resource of the plurality of processing core resources of the first computing node.
