Abstract
An image forming apparatus forms an image on a recording material. The apparatus includes a photosensitive drum bearing a toner image, a frame rotatably supporting the drum, a sheet member having a free end and another end fixed to the frame, and a transfer roller contacting the drum to form a transfer nip and transferring the toner image onto the recording material passing through the transfer nip. The sheet member includes a conductive layer and an insulating layer and is disposed downstream of the transfer nip in a conveyance direction. When viewed in a thickness direction, the layers at least partially overlap, and the insulating layer is closer to the drum than the conductive layer and faces a surface of the drum.
Claims16
An image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording material, comprising:
- a photosensitive drum configured to bear a toner image;
- a frame configured to rotatably support the photosensitive drum;
- a sheet member having one end that is a free end and another end fixed to the frame;
- and
- a transfer roller configured to contact the photosensitive drum to form a transfer nip and configured to transfer the toner image onto the recording material when the recording material is conveyed and passes through the transfer nip,
- wherein the sheet member includes a conductive layer and an insulating layer and is provided on a downstream side in a conveyance direction of the recording material at the transfer nip,
- wherein, when viewed in a thickness direction of the sheet member, the conductive layer and the insulating layer overlap at least partially, and
- wherein the insulating layer is closer to the photosensitive drum than the conductive layer and is disposed to face a surface of the photosensitive drum,
- and wherein the conductive layer is electrically grounded.
A drum cartridge configured to be attachable to and detachable from an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording material, comprising:
- a photosensitive drum configured to bear a toner image;
- a frame configured to rotatably support the photosensitive drum;
- a sheet member having one end that is a free end and another end fixed to the frame;
- and
- a transfer roller configured to contact the photosensitive drum to form a transfer nip and configured to transfer the toner image onto the recording material when the recording material passes through the transfer nip,
- wherein the sheet member includes a conductive layer and an insulating layer and is provided on a downstream side in a conveyance direction of the recording material at the transfer nip,
- wherein, when viewed in a thickness direction of the sheet member, the conductive layer and the insulating layer overlap at least partially, and
- wherein the insulating layer is disposed to face a surface of the photosensitive drum.
