Fill volume determination for tiltable containers

Abstract

A method for creating a linearization model, which describes a relationship between a fill level value measured pointwise by means of a travel time method and a fill volume of a fill substance in a tiltable container, using a corresponding measuring system having a travel time-based, fill level measuring device and a superordinated evaluation unit, can determine the fill volume in the container with little effort. The container inner geometry is taken into consideration in the linearization model and a fill substance type-specific, bulk-good angle and a state change of the container. In such case, the type of state change distinguishes between the tilting, the emptying, and filling of the container.
