Ratchet cam mount for muzzle attachments

A mounting assembly for a firearm muzzle device, the mounting assembly comprising:

• a mount body having a proximal end and a distal end, the mount body defining a passageway therethrough along a central axis and the distal end being configured to attach to the firearm muzzle device;
• a muzzle adapter coupled to the mount body and having a surface with a plurality of ridges;
• a collar around a portion of the mount body, the collar configured to circumferentially rotate between a first locked position and a second unlocked position;
• a first pawl comprising one or more teeth configured to engage between corresponding ridges of the plurality of ridges on the muzzle adapter;
• a second pawl comprising one or more teeth configured to engage between corresponding ridges of the plurality of ridges on the muzzle adapter;
• a first retaining bracket on the first pawl;
• a second retaining bracket on the second pawl;
• and
• at least one retaining spring coupled between the first retaining bracket and the second retaining bracket.

A mounting assembly for a firearm muzzle device and configured to attach to a muzzle adapter at the end of a firearm barrel, the mounting assembly comprising:

• a mount body having a proximal end and a distal end, the mount body defining a passageway therethrough along a central axis and configured to releasably attach to the muzzle adapter;
• a collar around a portion of the mount body between the proximal end and the distal end, the collar configured to circumferentially rotate between a first locked position and a second unlocked position;
• and
• a pawl arranged adjacent to an inner surface of the collar and comprising one or more teeth configured to engage between corresponding ridges of a plurality of ridges on an outside surface of the muzzle adapter;
• and
• a spring-loaded pin extending lengthwise parallel to the central axis and coupled to a portion of the collar, wherein a shelf of the mount body comprises a detent and the spring-loaded pin is configured to engage within the detent when the collar is rotated to the first locked position;
• wherein rotation of the collar to the first locked position circumferentially advances the pawl in a first rotational direction, and wherein rotation of the collar to the second unlocked position pulls the pawl radially towards the inner surface of the collar and advances the pawl in a second rotational direction opposite from the first rotation direction.
