This patent describes an installation for producing liquefied hydrogen. The installation includes a hydrogen circuit where gas is cooled by heat exchangers and then stored in a cryogenic facility. A cooling system, featuring a cryogenic refrigerator housed within a thermally insulated cold box, provides the necessary cooling for this process. The installation further includes a withdrawal pipe that carries cold fluid from the storage facility. A portion of this pipe passes through the cold box, establishing a heat-exchange relationship. Control valves on the withdrawal pipe manage the flow of this cold fluid. This allows the system to selectively transfer the fluid's cooling capacity (frigories) to the cold box, thereby assisting the primary refrigeration system and improving the installation's overall efficiency.
