Abstract

This centrifugal compressor is provided with: a rotating shaft; at least one compressor impeller attached to at least one of one side and the other side of the rotating shaft; a thrust disc portion provided on the rotating shaft and extending along a radial direction of the rotating shaft; at least one thrust bearing which is an air bearing, is disposed closer to the one side or the other side than the thrust disc portion, and is opposed to the thrust disc portion with a gap therebetween; a casing in which the rotating shaft and the thrust disc portion are rotatably accommodated, and which supports the at least one thrust bearing; and at least one cooling air supply line configured to supply cooling air from the outside of the casing to the gap from the inner side in the radial direction.
