Abstract
A faucet mounting system including a mounting shank including external threads and configured to be coupled to a mounting deck. A securement device is operably coupled to the mounting shank and includes internal threads. The internal threads of the securement device are engaged with the external threads of the mounting shank in a first mode. The internal threads of the securement device are disengaged from the external threads of the mounting shank in a second mode.
Claims18
A mounting nut, comprising:
- an upper housing including a tapered inner surface increasing in diameter from an upper end to a lower end;
- a lower housing coupled to the lower end of upper housing, the lower housing including a lower wall extending radially inward;
- and
- an annular insert received within the upper housing, the insert including a threaded passageway, a tapered lower end, and a tapered outer surface facing the inner surface of the upper housing;
- wherein engagement of the inner surface of the upper housing and the outer surface of the insert forces the threaded passageway inward;
- and
- wherein engagement of the lower wall and of the lower housing and the tapered lower end of the insert forces the threaded passageway outward.
4 more elements
A mounting nut, comprising:
- a housing including an interior protrusion, a frustoconical sidewall, and a lower engagement surface;
- and
- a threaded insert including a gap along the circumference;
- wherein the threaded insert is received coaxially within the housing;
- wherein the interior protrusion of the housing is received in the gap of the threaded insert and translates rotational movement of the housing to the threaded insert;
- and
- wherein in a first mode, the threaded insert may engage with complimentary threads;
- wherein in a second mode, the frustoconical sidewall of the housing exerts an inwardly force on the threaded insert, compressing the gap in the circumference of the threaded insert;
- and
- wherein in a third mode, the lower engagement surface exerts an outwardly force on the threaded insert, expanding the gap in the circumference of the threaded insert.
7 more elements
A mounting nut, comprising:
- an insert including a threaded passageway, a tapered lower end, and a tapered outer surface decreasing in diameter axially moving away from the lower end;
- a housing assembly, comprising;
- a tapered inner surface increasing in diameter from an upper end to a lower end,
- a lower wall extending radially inward relative to the tapered inner surface;
- and
- a torque limiter operably coupled to the housing assembly and configured to limit torque applied to the housing assembly.
