Abstract
Described is a material that includes a plurality of warp yarns and a weft yarn woven through the plurality of warp yarns. The weft yarn includes at least one synthetic fiber having a hollow structure. The hollow structure can have a delta cross-sectional outer profile. The material can be used as a secondary backing for a carpet.

A material comprising:
- a plurality of warp yarns;
- and
- a weft yarn woven through the plurality of warp yarns, wherein the weft yarn comprises at least one synthetic fiber having a hollow structure.
