Abstract

A cell detachment apparatus according to an embodiment includes a discharge unit, a collection unit, a tilting mechanism, and a tube. The discharge unit discharges a detachment solution for detaching cells cultured in a culture vessel. The collection unit collects the detached cells in the culture vessel. The tilting mechanism tilts the culture vessel such that the water depth near the collection unit increases. One end of the tube is connected to the discharge unit to supply the detachment solution to the discharge unit. The tube is resistant to pressure required for detaching the cells and includes an expansion/contraction portion that expands and contracts following a change in an orientation of the discharge unit due to tilting of the culture vessel.
