Abstract
A rubber composition for a pneumatic tire comprising a styrene-butadiene copolymer having a low glass transition temperature and a blend of a hydrocarbon resin and one or more oils and a pneumatic tire produced therefrom.
Claims21
A rubber composition for a pneumatic tire comprising:
- a styrene and butadiene copolymer (SBR), wherein the SBR has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of from −90° C. to −30° C., and wherein the SBR comprises a heteroatomic functional group;
- optionally a diene elastomer;
- and,
- a hydrocarbon resin comprising a heteroatomic functional group, wherein the hydrocarbon resin has a Tg of at least 30° C.;
- and,
- an oil;
- wherein the total amount of the hydrocarbon resin and the oil is at least 40 phr.
