Abstract
The present invention relates to proteins and protein libraries particularly for use in methods of screening to identify novel binding partners including diagnostic and therapeutic molecules.
Claims27
A double EF-hand protein comprising the amino acid sequence of any one of SEQ ID NOs:
- 2-11 or an amino acid sequence having at least 50% sequence similarity or identity thereto, wherein X is any amino acid residue, wherein the sequence similarity or identity is determined based on the amino acid residues of the constant region of SEQ ID NOs:
- 2-11, and wherein SEQ ID NOs:
- 7-11 include an insert selected from the following:
- GGGXXXXXXXGGG, GGGXXXXXXGGG, GGGXXXXXGGG, GGGXXXXGGG, GGGXXXGGG, GGXXXXXXXGG, GGXXXXXXGG, GGXXXXXGG, GGXXXXGG, GGXXXGG, GXXXXXXXG, GXXXXXXG, GXXXXXG, GXXXXG, GXXXG, XXXXXXX, XXXXXX, XXXXX, XXXX and XXX.
1 more element
A library comprising two or more double EF-hand proteins of different amino acid sequences.
A method of producing or expanding a library, the method comprising the step of collecting:
- a) two or more double EF-hand proteins of different amino acid sequences;
- or
- b) nucleic acids encoding such proteins.
A protein or peptide comprising or consisting of the amino acid sequence YLTIRLM for use in the prevention or treatment of a neurodegenerative disease.
