Abstract
A packaging machine and a control method. The machine includes a former member configured to receive a film and to give a tubular shape to the film, a film tube with an inner surface being generated. The machine further includes a cutting device for transversely cutting a continuous absorbent material, an absorbent material portion on one side of the cut being obtained; and an actuating device configured to cause contact between the absorbent material portion and a contact surface of the film, for attaching the absorbent material portion to the contact surface of the film. The contact surface is the inner surface of the film tube once the film tube has been formed.
Claims8
A packaging machine comprising:
- a former member that is configured to receive a continuous film which is supplied in a film supplying direction and to generate a film tube from the film, the film tube having an inner surface;
- an actuating device that is configured to cause contact between a contact surface of the film and an absorbent material portion at a location upstream of the former member with respect to the film supplying direction, the contact surface of the film being the inner surface of the film tube after the film tube has been generated;
- a cutting device that is configured to transversely cut a continuous absorbent material to obtain the absorbent material portion;
- and
- a support device arranged downstream of the cutting device in an absorbent material supplying direction, the support device being configured to support the absorbent material portion prior to the absorbent material portion being placed in contact with the contact surface of the film, the support device including:
- a support surface that is configured to support the absorbent material portion,
- a holding device configured to hold the absorbent material portion on the support surface, and
- an actuator configured to cause the absorbent material portion supported on the support device to move towards the contact surface of the film,
- the actuating device being configured to heat-seal the contact surface of the film to the absorbent material portion through the use of a sealing tool that is configured to press at least a part of the contact surface of the film against the absorbent material portion arranged on the support surface of the support device.
