Abstract

A tightening device for a steering column of a motor vehicle comprises a tightening bolt, axially extended in the direction of a tightening axis, and a tightening lever which is connected in torsion-locked manner to the tightening bolt via a coupling element and a connecting element, wherein the coupling element exhibits an axially protruding first projection and an axially protruding second projection, radially opposing the first projection with respect to the tightening axis, and the connecting element exhibits a first aperture in which the first projection engages axially, and exhibits a second aperture in which the second projection engages axially and which has been designed to be open radially outward. In order to make possible a more compact structure and improved manufacture, the second projection may have a radial second-projection width that is larger than a radial first-aperture width of the first aperture, and that is larger than a radial second-aperture width of the second aperture.
