Abstract
The invention relates to a device and a method for providing emergency access to a motor vehicle. One form of a method comprises: receiving a generation request at a remote vehicle management device to generate emergency access information for an emergency access to the motor vehicle; providing emergency access information to a user of the motor vehicle; providing the emergency access information by way of the user to the motor vehicle; reading the emergency access information by way of the motor vehicle, and providing an emergency access to the motor vehicle by way of the motor vehicle in response to the reading of the emergency access information.
Claims11
A method for providing emergency access to a motor vehicle, comprising:
- receiving a generation request at a remote vehicle management device to generate emergency access information for emergency access to a motor vehicle;
- providing emergency access information to a user of the motor vehicle;
- receiving the emergency access information at the motor vehicle from the user;
- reading the emergency access information by way of the motor vehicle;
- and
- providing the emergency access to the motor vehicle by way of the motor vehicle in response to reading the emergency access information.
