Abstract
A vehicle load indicator method includes, under first operating conditions, activating a step lamp of a vehicle to illuminate a step surface of a vehicle with a step lamp and, under second operating conditions, adjusting an activating of the step lamp to provide information about a load within the vehicle.

A vehicle load indicator method, comprising:
- under first operating conditions, activating a step lamp of a vehicle to illuminate a step surface of a vehicle with a step lamp;
- and
- under second operating conditions, adjusting an activating of the step lamp to provide information about a load within the vehicle.
A vehicle load indicator system, comprising:
- a cargo area of a vehicle;
- a step to the cargo area;
- and
- a light that activates to illuminate the step, the light selectively activated in response to a load within the cargo area.
