Abstract
A cutting tool comprising a tool body and a cassette for a cutting insert, wherein the cassette is radially adjustable along a direction of adjustment in a receptacle of the tool body by means of a positioning element with which the radial position of the cassette is adjustable in the receptacle in predetermined increments.
Claims10
1:
- A cutting tool comprising a tool body and a cassette for a cutting insert, whereby the cassette is radially adjustable along a direction of adjustment in a receptacle of the tool body by means of a positioning element with which the radial position of the cassette is adjustable in the receptacle in predetermined increments.
2:
- The cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the positioning element is a screw comprising an axial portion having an outer thread, and wherein the axial portion extends parallel to the direction of adjustment.
3:
- The cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the positioning element comprises a fixing section by means of which the positioning element is fixed in a manner preventing rotation in a plane transverse to the direction of adjustment to the tool body or the cassette.
4:
- The cutting tool according to claim 3, wherein the fixing section is positively secured to the tool body or the cassette.
5:
- The cutting tool according to claim 3, wherein the fixing section has a polygonal outer contour in the plane transverse to the direction of adjustment.
6:
- The cutting tool according to claim 5, wherein the polygonal outer contour is point-symmetric.
7:
- The cutting tool according to claim 3, wherein the fixing section is inserted into a pocket of the tool body or the cassette.
8:
- The cutting tool according to claim 7, wherein the pocket comprises a plurality of circumferential abutment surfaces, and each of the circumferential abutment surfaces is in contact with a lateral surface of the fixing section.
9:
- The cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the adjustment direction is perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the tool body (12).
10:
- The cutting tool according to claim 1, wherein the cutting tool is a drill or mill.
