Abstract
A thickness addition forming method increases at least part of a workpiece by presswork. The method includes pressing part of the workpiece, producing a flow in material of the workpiece, thereby displacing outward at least one of two surfaces opposed to each other in a second direction of the workpiece, increasing at least part of the workpiece in wall thickness, and thereby forming a thickened portion. The thickened portion is formed by displacing an area-to-be-displaced outward while applying a reaction force to the area-to-be-displaced using an elastic member.

A presswork-based thickness addition forming method that increases at least part of a workpiece in wall thickness by presswork, the method comprising
- pressing part of the workpiece, producing a flow in material of the workpiece, thereby displacing outward at least one of two surfaces opposed to each other in a thickness direction of the workpiece, increasing at least part of the workpiece in wall thickness, and thereby forming a thickened portion, wherein
- the thickened portion is formed by displacing an area-to-be-displaced of the workpiece outward while applying a reaction force to the area-to-be-displaced using an expandable member.
