Abstract
The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for producing syngas and/or hydrocarbons. The process involves reacting ammonia and carbon dioxide in a single reactor in the presence of a transition metal catalyst to form one or more products comprising carbon monoxide, hydrogen and one or more hydrocarbons. The invention allows green ammonia as a liquefied hydrogen carrier to be used directly in CO2 conversion.
Claims23
A process for producing one or more reaction products, the process comprising:
- (i) providing ammonia and carbon dioxide to a reactor comprising a transition metal catalyst;
- and
- (ii) reacting the ammonia and carbon dioxide in the presence of the transition metal catalyst to form one or more reaction products selected from the group consisting of carbon monoxide, one or more C1-3 hydrocarbons, and hydrogen,
- wherein step (ii) is conducted in a single reactor.
