Abstract
Among other things, embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for modifying avatar components of avatar datasets for multiple users, generating avatars based on the datasets, and displaying multiple avatars on a display screen of a graphical user interface.

A computer-implemented method for establishing avatar component correspondence between a first digital environment and a second digital environment, the method comprising:
- providing, by a first computing device associated with the first digital environment, access to an avatar dataset through an application programming interface, the avatar dataset comprising a plurality of avatar components, each avatar component described by component data including at least a component identifier and a component category;
- receiving, via the application programming interface from a second computing device associated with the second digital environment, a request for a subset of the plurality of avatar components, the request specifying at least one filtering criterion for selecting the subset from the avatar dataset;
- transmitting, to the second computing device via the application programming interface, the requested subset of avatar components and associated component data;
- receiving, from the second computing device, a set of environment-specific avatar components generated by the second digital environment in a visual style native to the second digital environment, each environment-specific avatar component positioned in correspondence with a respective avatar component from the transmitted subset;
- for each correspondence between an environment-specific avatar component and a respective avatar component, automatically generating an identifying tag associating the environment-specific avatar component with the respective avatar component;
- and
- storing the identifying tags, wherein the stored identifying tags enable the second digital environment to automatically generate an adapted version of a user avatar by retrieving avatar data associated with a user from the first digital environment and rendering the adapted version using the environment-specific avatar components identified by the stored identifying tags.
A system for establishing avatar component correspondence between a first digital environment and a second digital environment, the system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more memory devices storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform operations comprising:
- providing, via an application programming interface associated with the first digital environment, access to an avatar dataset comprising a plurality of avatar components, each avatar component described by component data including at least a component identifier and a component category;
- receiving, via the application programming interface from a computing device associated with the second digital environment, a request for a subset of the plurality of avatar components, the request specifying at least one filtering criterion for selecting the subset from the avatar dataset;
- transmitting, to the computing device via the application programming interface, the requested subset of avatar components and associated component data;
- receiving, from the computing device, a set of environment-specific avatar components generated by the second digital environment in a visual style native to the second digital environment, each environment-specific avatar component positioned in correspondence with a respective avatar component from the transmitted subset;
- for each correspondence between an environment-specific avatar component and a respective avatar component, automatically generating an identifying tag associating the environment-specific avatar component with the respective avatar component;
- and
- storing the identifying tags, wherein the stored identifying tags enable automatic generation of an adapted version of a user avatar for the second digital environment based on avatar data retrieved from the first digital environment and rendered using the environment-specific avatar components identified by the stored identifying tags.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations for establishing avatar component correspondence between a first digital environment and a second digital environment, the operations comprising:
- providing, via an application programming interface associated with the first digital environment, access to an avatar dataset comprising a plurality of avatar components, each avatar component described by component data including at least a component identifier and a component category;
- receiving, via the application programming interface from a computing device associated with the second digital environment, a request for a subset of the plurality of avatar components, the request specifying at least one filtering criterion;
- transmitting, to the computing device via the application programming interface, the requested subset of avatar components and associated component data;
- receiving, from the computing device, a set of environment-specific avatar components generated by the second digital environment in a visual style native to the second digital environment, each environment-specific avatar component positioned in correspondence with a respective avatar component from the transmitted subset;
- for each correspondence between an environment-specific avatar component and a respective avatar component, automatically generating an identifying tag associating the environment-specific avatar component with the respective avatar component;
- and
- storing the identifying tags, wherein the stored identifying tags enable the second digital environment to automatically generate an adapted version of a user avatar by retrieving avatar data associated with a user from the first digital environment and rendering the adapted version using the environment-specific avatar components identified by the stored identifying tags.
