Peripheral device hardware element with embedded identification interface

A peripheral device comprising:

• one or more memories storing instructions;
• and
• one or more processors that, upon execution of the instructions, configure the peripheral device to:
• receive an identifier from a hardware element that stores the identifier, wherein the identifier is received upon the peripheral device and the hardware element interfacing with each other;
• determine that the identifier is valid;
• and
• cause, based on the identifier being valid, a change to an application, wherein an output of execution of the application is presented at a user device with which the peripheral device is communicatively coupled.

A system comprising:

• a peripheral device comprising:
• a receiving surface;
• one or more memories storing instructions;
• and
• one or more processors configured to execute the instructions;
• and
• an attachable element configured to be received within the receiving surface of the peripheral device, the attachable element comprising:
• a structural component comprising an interface surface , the interface surface being configured to be received within the receiving surface of the peripheral device;
• and
• an identifier element storing an identifier and coupled to or integrated with the second surface and configured to communicatively couple to the one or more processors of the peripheral device.
