Abstract
A ball game apparatus in which movements of a coded ball are detected by detector units and an automatic indication of a player's score is given, where data relating to the ball are stored in a database connected to the detector units, the data including the code of a ball and a code relating to a player to whom the ball has been allocated, the ball being configured to temporarily store, and to intermittently transfer to the detector units and thence to the database, data relating to the ball's movements.

A golf facility, comprising:
- one or more golf holes for a putting game;
- a golf ball designated for a player and including a ball antenna and a ball code;
- a display to present a score of the player for the putting game;
- and
- one or more detector units positioned about the one or more golf holes to wirelessly communicate with the ball antenna to collect ball-movement data of the golf ball;
- a control unit to store the ball code and the ball-movement data of the golf ball;
- and
- an activator unit including an activator antenna to:
- when the golf ball is first in proximity to the activator antenna, activate the ball antenna of the golf ball for transmission of signals;
- and
- when the golf ball is again in proximity to the activator antenna, deactivate the ball antenna of the golf ball to halt the transmission of the signals.
