Bean bag tray device

A bean bag tray device for capturing bean bags that are tossed through a bean bag hole in a board during a bean bag toss game, said device comprising:

• a basal panel having a bottom surface being planar wherein said bottom surface is configured to rest on a support surface beneath a bean bag board, said basal panel having a top surface being planar wherein said top surface is configured to be faced toward a hole in the bean bag board thereby enabling a bean bag tossed through the hole to land on said top surface, said top surface comprising an adhesive material wherein said top surface is configured to inhibit the bean bag from sliding on said top surface when the bean bag lands on said top surface;
• a plurality of perimeter panels, each perimeter panel of said plurality of perimeter panels being hingedly coupled to said basal panel, said plurality of perimeter panels surrounding said basal panel to define a collection area being bounded by said plurality of perimeter panels, each perimeter panel of said plurality of perimeter panels being positionable in an upright position having each perimeter panel of said plurality of perimeter panels extending upwardly from said basal panel wherein said plurality of perimeter panels is configured to contain the bean bag in said collection area when the bean bag lands on said top surface, each perimeter panel of said plurality of perimeter panels being positionable in a stored position having each perimeter panel of said plurality of perimeter panels lying on a plane oriented parallel to said basal panel, said plurality of perimeter panels including a rear panel and a front panel and a pair of sidelong panels each extending between said rear panel and said front panel, said rear panel having a height being greater than a height of any of said front panel or said pair of sidelong panels wherein said rear panel is configured to deflect the bean bag into said collection area when the bean bag strikes said rear panel, said rear panel having a lower edge being aligned with and being coextensive with a rear edge of said basal panel;
• wherein said front panel has a lower edge being aligned with and being coextensive with a front edge of said basal panel such that said front panel is oriented parallel to said rear panel;
• wherein each sidelong panel of said panel sidelong panels has a lower edge, said lower edge of each sidelong panel of said pair of sidelong panels being aligned with and being coextensive with a respective one of a first lateral edge of said basal panel and a second lateral edge of said basal panel such that said pair of sidelong panels are oriented parallel to each other, each sidelong panel of said pair of sidelong panels having a top edge which includes a pair of sidelong sections each angling toward each other between a respective one of a pair of lower sections and a top section to define a grip on a respective sidelong panel wherein said grip on said respective sidelong panel is configured to enable a user to grip said grip on said respective sidelong panel when said respective sidelong panel is in said upright position for sliding said basal panel and said plurality of perimeter panels outwardly from beneath the bean bag board for collecting the bean bag from said basal panel;
• a plurality of hinges, each hinge of said plurality of hinges being hingedly attached between said basal panel and a respective perimeter panel of said plurality of perimeter panels, each hinge of said plurality of hinges being releasably lockable in a first position for retaining each perimeter panel of said plurality of perimeter panels in said upright position wherein said plurality of hinges is configured to inhibit any of said plurality of perimeter panels from being urged in said stored position when the bean bag strikes any of said plurality of perimeter panels, each hinge of said plurality of hinges comprising a central portion being rotatably disposed in an outer portion, each hinge of said plurality of hinges having a tab extending outwardly from an outer surface of said central portion along a first end of said outer portion, each hinge of said plurality of hinges having a recess in said first end of said outer portion, said tab associated with a respective hinge being biased to extend into said recess associated with said respective hinge when said respective hinge is in said first position for releasably retaining said respective hinge in said first position, said tab associated with said respective hinge being urged outwardly from said recess associated with said respective hinge when said respective hinge is urged into a second position;
• and
• wherein said plurality of hinges includes a pair of front hinges and a pair of rear hinges and a plurality of sidelong hinges, each front hinge of said pair of front hinges being located between said lower edge of said front panel and said front edge of said basal panel, each front hinge of said pair of front hinges being aligned with a respective first end or second end of said front panel, each rear hinge of said pair of rear hinges being located between said lower edge of said rear panel and said rear edge of said basal panel, each rear hinge of said pair of rear hinges being aligned with a respective first end or second end of said rear panel, each sidelong hinge of said plurality of sidelong hinges being located between said lower edge of a respective sidelong panel of said pair of sidelong panels and a respective first lateral edge or second lateral edge of said basal panel.
