Intraocular lens injector

An intraocular lens injector for use with an intraocular lens including an optical portion that defines an optical axis and support portions extending from the optical portion, the intraocular lens injector comprising:

• a hollow body defining a lens advancing direction and including an inner wall, a nozzle and a lens setting portion configured to hold the intraocular less such that the optical axis extends in an optical axis direction and one of the support portions defines a forward support portion;
• and
• a protrusion, positioned between the nozzle and a lens setting portion such that the protrusion is contacted by the forward support portion as the intraocular lens moves in the lens advancing direction, and including
• an inclined surface with a first slope having a component in the optical axis direction and a component in the lens advancing direction, a forward end, and a rearward end located at a rearmost end of the protrusion, and
• a step having a rising portion, with a rearward end located at the forward end of the inclined surface and a second slope that is different than the first slope and that has at least a component in the optical axis direction, and a flat top portion.
