Audible Frequency Generating System For An Implantable Medical Device

An audible frequency generating system for use in an implantable device, the implantable device including a housing containing a power source and a control module, wherein the housing comprises at least one wall and a constraining portion formed within the at least one wall of the housing, the audible frequency generating system comprising:

• a) a frequency generator configured to produce an audible sound, the frequency generator being disposed in the constraining portion within the at least one wall of the housing;
• b) at least a first conductor and a second conductor electrically coupled to the frequency generator, wherein:
• i) the first conductor connects the frequency generator to the power source of the implantable device to power the frequency generator;
• and
• ii) the second conductor connects the frequency generator to the control module of the implantable device to control the frequency generator;
• and
• c) a fastening element residing spaced from the constraining portion and being secured to the at least one wall of the housing, wherein at least one of the first and second conductors connected to the frequency generator extends out of the constraining portion to between the fastening element and the at least one wall of the housing to connect to one of the power source and the control module of the implantable device so that the frequency generator is constrained within the constraining portion only by the at least one of the first and second conductors to provide the frequency generator having a floating configuration relative to the housing.

An audible frequency generating system for use in an implantable device, the implantable device including a housing containing a power source and a control module, wherein the housing comprises at least one wall and a cavity formed within the at least one wall of the housing, the audible frequency generating system comprising:

• a) a frequency generator configured to produce an audible sound, the frequency generator being disposed in the cavity within the at least one wall of the housing;
• b) at least a first conductor and a second conductor electrically coupled to the frequency generator, wherein:
• i) the first conductor connects the frequency generator to the power source of the implantable device to power the frequency generator;
• and
• ii) the second conductor connects the frequency generator to the control module of the implantable device to control the frequency generator;
• and
• c) a fastening element residing spaced from the cavity and being secured to the at least one wall of the housing, wherein at least one of the first and second conductors connected to the frequency generator extends out of the cavity to between the fastening element and the at least one wall of the housing to connect to one of the power source and the control module of the implantable device so that the frequency generator is constrained within the cavity only by the at least one of the first and second conductors to provide the frequency generator having a floating configuration relative to the housing.
