Disposable food container

A method of pressforming a disposable food container from a generally planar paperboard blank comprising:

• inserting a generally planar paperboard blank having a diameter D0 into a pressform;
• pressforming the disposable food container to include:
• a circular bottom portion extending to a diameter D1;
• an inclined sidewall portion extending at an angle up and away from the circular bottom portion;
• a rim portion elevated from a lowest portion of the circular bottom portion by a height;
• and
• a downturn flange portion extending from the rim portion to an outer edge of the disposable food container of diameter D4,
• wherein a ratio of the diameter D4 to the diameter D0 is greater than 0.85, and
• wherein a ratio of the height to the diameter D4 is greater than 0.10.

A disposable food container pressformed from a generally planar paperboard blank comprising:

• a bottom portion extending to a characteristic diameter D1;
• an inclined sidewall portion extending at an angle up and away from the bottom portion;
• a rim portion elevated from a lowest portion of the bottom portion by a height;
• and
• a downturn flange portion extending from the rim portion to an outer edge of the disposable food container, wherein the rim portion is disposed between the inclined sidewall portion and the downturn flange portion,
• wherein a ratio of the characteristic diameter D1 of the bottom portion to a characteristic diameter D4 of the outer edge of the disposable food container is greater than 0.68, and
• wherein a ratio of the height to the characteristic diameter D4 of the outer edge of the disposable food container is greater than 0.10.
