Hook-and-loop fastener

A hook-and-loop fastener, comprising:

• a sheet-shaped base;
• and
• a plurality of engaging elements and a plurality of projections provided on a surface on one side of the base,
• each of the engaging elements comprising:
• a stem projecting from the surface of the base;
• and
• an engaging head projecting from the stem in a first direction that is one direction along the surface of the base,
• the engaging elements being arrayed in the first direction to form an element array,
• the element array comprising a plurality of element arrays, the element arrays being arranged on the surface of the base with a space between adjacent ones of the element arrays in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, the space comprising a plurality of spaces on the surface of the base, each of the projections being arranged in any of the spaces between adjacent ones of the element arrays, and
• the arranged projections forming a visible portion that allows a user to visually recognize any one direction along the surface of the base.
