Display Device And Electronic Device Including The Same

A display device comprising:

• a display panel including a display area and a non-display area adjacent to the display area;
• and
• a first light control layer disposed on the display panel and including a light blocking pattern and an insulating layer arranged to cover the light blocking pattern, the light blocking pattern comprising:
• extensions disposed in the display area, each extension having an elongate dimension that extends in a first direction, the extensions being arranged so that the extensions are spaced apart in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction;
• and
• first outer connections disposed in the non-display area, each first outer connection of the first outer connections being connected with ends of the extensions, and
• wherein a width of each first outer connection of the first outer connections is greater than a width of each extension of the extensions.

An electronic device comprising:

• a display device;
• an electronic module configured to provide an electrical signal to the display device;
• and
• a window module disposed on the display device,
• wherein the display device includes:
• a display panel including a base layer including light emitting areas and a non-light emitting area, a pixel defining layer disposed on the base layer and having pixel openings defined therein to overlap the light emitting areas, and light emitting elements disposed in the pixel openings;
• and
• a light control layer disposed on the display panel and including a light blocking pattern, wherein the light blocking pattern includes:
• extensions, each extension among the extensions having an elongate dimension that extends in a first direction to overlap the light emitting areas and the non-light emitting area, the extensions being spaced apart in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction;
• and
• connections configured to overlap the non-light emitting area without overlapping the light emitting areas and disposed between a first extension and a second extension from among the extensions, the first extension and the second extension being adjacent to each other in the second direction.
