The disclosure relates to a 5G communication system or a 6G communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4G communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). Various embodiments herein provide a method and a device for handling minimum system information MSI (904a) for a next generation telecommunication network. A User Equipment (UE) (111) tuning a frequency for cell selection in the PBCH network. The UE (111) receives a Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) (103g) block on the tuned frequency, broadcasted from a network apparatus (113) in the next-generation telecommunication network. Subsequently, the UE (111) decodes the PBCH (103g) block to extract the MSI (904a), comprising a Master Information Block (MIB) and a System Information Block (SIB). The SIB comprises, cell selection parameters, cell access-related parameters, a value tag indicating the validity of the MSI or any changes, and RACH parameters.
A method performed by a user equipment (UE) for handling minimum system information (MSI) in a wireless communication system, comprising:
A method performed by a master node (MN) for handling minimum system information MSI (904a) in a wireless communication system, comprising:
A UE (111) for handling system information in a wireless communication system, comprising:
A Master Node (MN) (112) for handling system information in a wireless communication system, comprising:
