Abstract
A device such as a mobile device may be configured to connect to and/or communicate with one or more networks. The device may receive information indicating that there is at least one other network within a range of the device. One of the networks within range of the device may comprise a preferred cellular network. The device may then scan for the preferred cellular network and communicate with the preferred cellular network. The device may also detect the preferred cellular network based on information stored on the device. When the device is within range of the preferred cellular network, the device may detect the preferred cellular network based on the stored information and begin communicating with the preferred cellular network.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- determining, via a Wi-Fi network, that a computing device is within a geographic location associated with a preferred cellular network;
- and
- sending, to the computing device, information indicating that the computing device is within the geographic location associated with the preferred cellular network to cause the computing device to communicate via the preferred cellular network.
A device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to:
- determine, via a Wi-Fi network, that a computing device is within a geographic location associated with a preferred cellular network;
- and
- send, to the computing device, information indicating that the computing device is within the geographic location associated with the preferred cellular network to cause the computing device to communicate via the preferred cellular network.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause:
- determining, via a Wi-Fi network, that a computing device is within a geographic location associated with a preferred cellular network;
- and
- sending, to the computing device, information indicating that the computing device is within the geographic location associated with the preferred cellular network to cause the computing device to communicate via the preferred cellular network.
