Method and apparatus for ebi and arp mapping update

A method performed by a first network function (NF) service consumer, comprising:

• receiving a first request comprising modified evolved packet system bearer identity (EBI) list information element indicating one or more updated EBI and allocation and retention priority (ARP) mapping from a second NF service consumer;
• sending a first response to the second NF service consumer;
• and
• when one or both of:
• one or both of the first NF service consumer and an NF service producer do not support EBI and ARP mapping update in EBI assignment;
• and
• the NF service producer cannot update the mapping of EBI and ARP, then
• the first response comprises first information indicating at least one of:
• failure information;
• the NF service producer cannot update the mapping of EBI and ARP;
• the modified EBI list information element is not delivered to the NF service producer;
• the modified EBI list information element is not updated to the NF service producer;
• the modified EBI list information element is not successfully handled by the NF service producer;
• or
• one or both of the first NF service consumer and the NF service producer do not support EBI and ARP mapping update in EBI assignment.

A method performed by a second network function (NF) service consumer, the method comprising:

• sending a first request comprising modified evolved packet system bearer identity (EBI) list information element indicating one or more updated EBI and allocation and retention priority (ARP) mapping to a first NF service consumer;
• receiving a first response from the first NF service consumer;
• and
• when one or both of:
• one or both of the first NF service consumer and an NF service producer do not support EBI and ARP mapping update in EBI assignment;
• and
• the NF service producer cannot update the mapping of EBI and ARP, then
• the first response comprises first information indicating at least one of:
• failure information;
• the NF service producer cannot update the mapping of EBI and ARP;
• the modified EBI list information element is not delivered to the NF service producer;
• the modified EBI list information element is not updated to the NF service producer;
• the modified EBI list information element is not successfully handled by the NF service producer;
• or
• one or both of the first NF service consumer and the NF service producer do not support EBI and ARP mapping update in EBI assignment.

A first network function (NF) service consumer, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor, the memory containing instructions executable by the processor, to configure the first NF service consumer to:
• receive a first request comprising modified evolved packet system bearer identity (EBI) list information element indicating one or more updated EBI and allocation and retention priority (ARP) mapping from a second NF service consumer;
• send a first response to the second NF service consumer;
• and
• when one or both of:
• one or both of the first NF service consumer and an NF service producer do not support EBI and ARP mapping update in EBI assignment;
• and
• the NF service producer cannot update the mapping of EBI and ARP, then
• the first response comprises first information indicating at least one of:
• failure information;
• the NF service producer cannot update the mapping of EBI and ARP;
• the modified EBI list information element is not delivered to the NF service producer;
• the modified EBI list information element is not updated to the NF service producer;
• the modified EBI list information element is not successfully handled by the NF service producer;
• or
• one or both of the first NF service consumer and the NF service producer do not support EBI and ARP mapping update in EBI assignment.

A second network function (NF) service consumer, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor, the memory containing instructions executable by the processor, to configure the second NF service to:
• send a first request comprising modified evolved packet system bearer identity (EBI) list information element indicating one or more updated EBI and allocation and retention priority (ARP) mapping to a first NF service consumer;
• receive a first response from the first NF service consumer;
• and
• when one or both of:
• one or both of the first NF service consumer and an NF service producer do not support EBI and ARP mapping update in EBI assignment;
• and
• the NF service producer cannot update the mapping of EBI and ARP, then
• the first response comprises first information indicating at least one of:
• failure information;
• the NF service producer cannot update the mapping of EBI and ARP;
• the modified EBI list information element is not delivered to the NF service producer;
• the modified EBI list information element is not updated to the NF service producer;
• the modified EBI list information element is not successfully handled by the NF service producer;
• or
• one or both of the first NF service consumer and the NF service producer do not support EBI and ARP mapping update in EBI assignment.
