Method of vehicle mounted relaying

Abstract

A method for vehicle mounted relaying in wireless communications, by a plurality of user equipments (UEs) including at least one vehicle mounted UE able to exchange data in a wireless network with remote user equipments via a Relay UE. The method includes: (first step) Relay UE indicates vehicle-mounted UE characteristics and capabilities to network and to remote user equipments, (second step) Relay UE detects vehicle occupants as onboard remote user equipments, provides the network with assistance information regarding onboard remote UEs, and the network determines and/or adjusts measurement configurations of the onboard remote UEs, (third step) based on the received UE characteristics and capabilities, the network provides configurations and/or updates pre-configurations of relay UEs candidates for relay re-selection, (fourth step) the network authorizes and/or configures the Relay UE for locally managing radio resources and Quality of Service (QOS).
