Distributed command execution in multi-location studio environments

A computer-based content production management method, the method comprising:

• receiving a set of commands targeting at least one movable platform within at least one filming volume, wherein the set of commands controls movement of the at least one movable platform within the at least one filming volume;
• assigning a synchronized execution time to each command of the set of commands;
• enqueueing each command of the set of commands into a command queue associated with the at least one movable platform according to its respective synchronized execution time;
• and
• causing the at least one movable platform to execute the set of commands from the command queue according to their respective synchronized execution times thereby controlling the movement of the at least one movable platform within the at least one filming volume.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing computer readable instructions, which when executed by processor hardware, causes a computer-based command queue management module to:

• receive a set of commands targeting at least one movable platform within at least one filming volume, wherein the set of commands controls movement of the at least one movable platform within the at least one filming volume;
• assign a synchronized execution time to each command of the set of commands;
• enqueue each command of the set of commands into a command queue associated with the at least one movable platform according to its respective synchronized execution time;
• and
• cause the at least one movable platform to execute the set of commands from the command queue according to their respective synchronized execution times thereby controlling the movement of the at least one movable platform within the at least one filming volume.
